Deborah Green is the founder and committee chair of the all-volunteer-led NORTH SHORE BIRDING FESTIVAL, featuring the Lake Apopka North Shore and a past attendee of Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival nearly every year since its inception. Retired as founding Director of Sustainability for Valencia College, she is comfortable with complicated organizational tasks and accepted this position with guarantees of help from Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Association board members and the strong precendence of past years of this festival. Bringing together expert birders with those who want to learn in wonderful birdy places is one of her favorite things. Contact Deborah at director@scbwa.net.

Dee Fairbanks Simpson is a long time Florida Park Service volunteer, monitoring Eagles, Manatees and Scrub Jays. She is a birder, writer, artist and Florida Master Naturalist – skills which she applies to her work with her husband’s business, Birding with David Simpson. Using puppets, props and a healthy dose of humor, Dee strives to make their classes and materials fun and educational. She writes a daily blog in the form of a short poem with photos featuring Florida’s flora and fauna. Dee also creates short films about nature and birding, some of which can be viewed at film festivals and online.
