Welcome or welcome back to the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival

If you are new to Florida and curious for a way to safely learn about the natural side of the state, Space Coast offers the ways to see different Florida environs. And you’ll have the fun of meeting other birders and naturalists from across the state!

This year’s official festival bird is the American Flamingo. Following Hurricane Idalia in late August 2023, flamingos were flung throughout the east. If we are lucky, the ones that feed near Haulover Canal within the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge can be seen on kayak trips. We cannot be sure they will stay for the festival, but we are hoping.
